Acting on a tip-off, authorities found operators mixing stale, low-grade fennel seeds with a harmful non-edible green chemical dye to make them appear fresh and premium quality. Officials also confiscated nearly 140 kilograms of the raw chemical used in the adulteration process. The factory was reportedly functioning without a valid FSSAI licence. Samples of the seized products have been sent to state laboratories for chemical analysis.
