Introduced through an amendment to the Food Safety and Standards (Vegan Foods) Regulations notified on May 21, 2026, the logo features a green \u201cV\u201d with a sprouting leaf, symbolizing products that are free from animal-derived ingredients. The initiative aims to establish a uniform national identity for vegan foods, improve transparency in labelling, and help consumers easily distinguish vegan products from conventional and vegetarian foods. Experts believe the regulation will reduce consumer confusion, prevent misleading claims, and enable informed purchasing decisions.
