Under the leadership of IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe, the FDA has intensified statewide enforcement, conducting 203 raids and making 102 arrests between May 25 and May 31, 2026. The department has seized adulterated and banned products worth over \u20b91.58 crore and continues to crack down on violators. Citizens can report suspicious food items, medicines, adulterated sweets, or banned tobacco products through the toll-free helpline 1800 222 365, email jc-foodhq@gov.in, or the Food Safety Connect mobile app. The initiative aims to strengthen consumer safety through active public participation and prompt regulatory action. FDA officials have urged consumers to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspected violations. The department stated that public cooperation is crucial in identifying offenders and preventing the circulation of unsafe food and drug products.
