Hyderabad Intensifies Food Safety Crackdown; Action Taken Against Six Food Establishments
The Hyderabad City Police’s Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST), in coordination with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Food Safety Officers, has taken action against six food establishments for alleged violations of food safety regulations. The inspections covered manufacturing units, retail outlets, and processing facilities across Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts, where officials detected unhygienic food preparation, reuse of cooking oil, use of artificial food colours, expired and misbranded products, improper labelling, poor sanitation, pest infestation, and the absence of valid FSSAI licences and mandatory food safety records. Unsafe food items were seized, samples were collected for laboratory analysis, and six individuals were handed over to Food Safety Officers for further legal action. Authorities stated that the enforcement drive aims to curb food adulteration, strengthen regulatory compliance, and protect public health through stricter monitoring and inspections.
