AICPDF Seeks PMO Intervention to Halt Zepto IPO
The All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation (AICPDF) has urged the Prime Minister’s Office and regulators to suspend Zepto’s proposed IPO, citing concerns over predatory pricing and market distortion. The federation warned that fresh public funds could fuel aggressive discounting, threatening traditional retailers and wholesalers. AICPDF alleged that the rapid expansion of quick-commerce firms could lead to widespread store closures, job losses, and financial distress. It also called for greater transparency on the sustainability of cash-burn business models and demanded a comprehensive review of the sector’s impact on competition and employment before any IPO approval is granted.
