FSSAI Cracks Down On Misleading Product Claims

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued notices to Heritage Foods Limited, Dia Foods, and Cipzer over alleged misleading product claims and labelling violations. The action relates to claims such as “Fresh,” “Healthy,” “All Natural,” “100% Organic,” “Vegan,” and “FSSAI Approved,” along with certain labelling observations that may not comply with the Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) Regulations, 2018. FSSAI has directed the three companies to submit their explanations within seven days and take appropriate corrective measures. The regulator’s action aims to strengthen truthful advertising, improve labelling compliance, and protect consumers from misleading food claims.
