Tamil Nadu to Develop Model Food Streets in Six Major Cities
The Tamil Nadu Government has announced plans to develop model food streets on a pilot basis across six major cities—Chennai, Tiruchy, Madurai, Coimbatore, Salem, and Tiruppur. The initiative aims to promote food hygiene, safety, and quality by creating clean and well-managed street food hubs. Vendors in these locations will also receive credit support, financial assistance, and access to health check-ups and immunisation programmes to ensure safer food handling practices.
