Nestlé to Eliminate Synthetic Food Colours Globally by 2026

Nestlé has announced that it will eliminate all synthetic food colourings from its global product portfolio by the end of 2026, expanding on its successful transition in the United States, where certified artificial dyes were completely replaced with natural alternatives by mid-2026. The company is evaluating and testing natural colour solutions to ensure they meet quality, shelf-life, and manufacturing requirements. The initiative forms part of Nestlé’s global clean-label strategy to simplify ingredient lists across its products, while also reflecting growing consumer demand for natural ingredients and greater transparency in food products. The transition aligns with increasing regulatory scrutiny of synthetic food additives in several markets, and Nestlé stated that the phased rollout will be completed across its worldwide portfolio by the end of 2026.
