18,000 Litres Of Spurious Ghee Seized In Udaipur

Food safety officials seized 18,000 litres of suspicious ghee during a raid on a dairy processing facility in Udaipur on Wednesday. Acting on a tip-off, authorities discovered unlabelled tins and artificial yellow food colouring, raising strong suspicion that standard fat products were being adulterated and sold as premium pure cow desi ghee. The operation was expanded to a trading company near the agricultural mandi, where over 42,000 kilograms of various dairy products were placed under investigation. Stocks of a specific brand previously declared unsafe by regulators were also confiscated. Multiple samples from both sites have been sent for urgent laboratory analysis. Strict legal action will be initiated under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, if violations are confirmed.
