Kerala Launches ‘Eat Right Keralam – Safe Onam 2026’ Campaign
The Kerala Food Safety Department has launched the ‘Eat Right Keralam – Safe Onam 2026’ campaign to strengthen food safety ahead of the Onam festival. The initiative includes statewide awareness programmes and training sessions for food business operators on hygienic food handling, storage, distribution, and the safe use of food additives. Workshops are being conducted across all districts with the participation of hotel, bakery, and catering associations. Authorities will intensify inspections of catering services, cloud kitchens, temporary food stalls, and other high-risk sectors during the festive season. Imported food products and goods entering Kerala from neighbouring states will also undergo strict quality checks. Officials have warned that violations such as adulteration and the use of illegal additives will invite stringent legal action to ensure a safe and healthy Onam.
